MAF’s Cessna 182 SMA, registration TT-BRT, was flown to Uganda from Chad for modifications at their regional engineering facility due to issues with oil pressure. There, MAF’s Maintenance Team discovered that the aircraft needed a replacement engine, turbocharger, fuel filter, and avionics unit. After 7 months, the 182 was as good as new; with its updated parts, the plane now had long-term operational versatility and reliability.
Back in Chad, MAF’s Maintenance Training Coordinator Keith Ketchum spoke about the new updates to the Cessna: ‘It is exciting to be the largest operator of this aircraft, and I believe we have proven that the concept is viable, as long as we have maintenance support.’
