Immanuel – God With Us

‘Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel’

Isaiah 7:14

Immanuel is one of the most comforting and encouraging names of God. Appearing in both the Old Testament and the New, God wants it made known that He is a God who walks alongside His people.

Our Lord and Saviour didn’t stand aloof and uninterested but came to earth and walked in our shoes. What a blessing it is to know that our God is close to His people and seeks friendship with His flawed creation.

Pray for the Bible boxes that are flown to remote communities by all our pilots. MAF believes in the power of God’s Word and in giving everyone the opportunity to hear the good news of the Gospel of Jesus. Our desire is for every remote community to know that God is alive and is with them.
Pray that, as people read His Word, it will come alive and they will have a revelation of His love for them. Pray too for its positive, life-giving effect on whole communities.
Pray for our ‘Water changes lives’ campaign which runs until the end of 2024. We are passionate about every remote community having access to safe, clean water. Pray that this campaign will resonate with many and that many more communities will receive life-preserving water filters.

A prayer for Papua New Guinea

We thank You that we have been able to serve in Papua New Guinea since 1951 and give thanks for MAF’s large fleet of 10 aircraft and 142 staff. We pray that the people who inhabit its beautiful yet rugged terrain will be aware of Your tangible presence and will know Your care for them.

We thank You for our ability to sustain many isolated communities and local churches with our vital air link, praying for an even greater reach and for those who have never heard the Gospel.

We thank You for MAF’s health patrols, vaccine distribution and school flights – just a few of the ways in which we serve.
