The Lord Who Heals

It is God’s nature to heal. The Old Testament contains many accounts of God healing physical ailments as well as healing hearts and minds. Exodus 15:26 (NKJV) says, ‘If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you.’

Today, we think of everyone who needs God’s healing touch and ask that He would heal hearts and physical ailments in every remote community. We thank You that You are a miracle working God and that You still do miraculous things today.

Pray for the people MAF serves in refugee settlements in northern Uganda, like Palorinya. Having fled fighting and unrest in South Sudan, there are now more than 1.7 million refugees across 13 settlements. MAF partners with a variety of organisations to deliver essential supplies.

Pray that MAF and its humanitarian partners will be able to meet the ever-increasing need with the right resources. Pray too that the many refugees will receive healing from the trauma caused by the terrible things they’ve experienced and witnessed.

Pray for every health organisation with which MAF works. Whether working to educate and prevent ill health or providing life-saving medical care, may the infrastructure of low-income nations develop so they can sustain and build on the good work being done. We pray for a day when diseases like malaria will no longer prove fatal because everyone will have access to life-preserving vaccinations and mosquito nets.

A prayer for Kenya

Today, we lift up our Kenya programme. We have had the privilege of serving this beautiful and arid country since 1959. We thank You for our fleet of 3 planes and 30 staff. More than 90% of the population rely on livestock for their livelihood. Only 45% of its people have safe access to water or acceptable sanitation. We pray for hope to come to these communities for a sustainable infrastructure that will improve the lives of many. We thank You for the growing Church in Kenya and pray that the pastors will be given wisdom and grace to extend the Kingdom of God in the regions they serve.
