William and Sarah Babumba

The Babumba journey with MAF officially begins on July 1st, 2025. However, they have been praying and learning about MAF’s mission and work for nearly three years in preparation for this calling.

They have two sons — Joshua (27) and Jacob (22 ) — both born in England. Originally from Uganda, they have been married for 32 wonderful years. They are both British of Ugandan origin.

William grew up in Uganda, where he completed his secondary education before moving to the UK for University studies. He has lived and worked in the UK for the past 38 years. His early career was in the UK voluntary sector, where he played a key role in developing HIV and treatment services tailored for African communities, before progressing his career to working in the international humanitarian sector. He has an MBA in Community Development.

William felt a calling to mission work from the age of 12 and has spent years praying and seeking the right opportunity to serve. With over 25 years of experience in humanitarian programming and extensive involvement in church ministry, he now sees this as the answered prayer—the right time to serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) in Uganda. MAF’s vision, mission, and values deeply align with his own.

Like William, Sarah grew up in Uganda, where she completed both her secondary and undergraduate studies. She later moved to the UK for further education and has lived there for the past 37 years. she has a master’s degree in human resource management. With a background in human resource management, Sarah worked as a consultant in London, supporting Black and Ethnic Minority communities for several years. Sarah and William met in UK and later got married in 1994.

The opportunity to serve with Mission Aviation Fellowship is a deeply meaningful answer to prayer for both Sarah and William. After years of seeking a shared path in ministry, they are excited and grateful for this calling to serve together in Uganda.

Where possible, they would also be grateful for your prayer and financial support as they partner with MAF to bring hope and help to remote communities in Uganda. Your encouragement means so much to them, and they truly value walking this journey together with you.
