Together with your help, we are going to save a lot of patients. Through MAF, we save a lot of patients because you deliver for us so many good needs for our hospital.

Dr Joseph Maker

Mothers carry their children for hours on foot to reach Noah’s Place Mission Hospital—one of the only hospitals in Tonj, South Sudan they trust to have life-saving medicine. Joseph Maker, Clinical Officer and Medical Director of Noah’s Place, leads a small team who can serve hundreds of patients in a single day. ‘Last year, we saw 62,000 patients and two-thirds of these patients were suffering from malaria. And we tried to give help to them,’ explains Dr Maker.

Their situation is just one of many problems your generosity can help solve.

‘Malaria is a parasitic infection carried by mosquitos. It can come with a headache, fever, joint pain, chills and diarrhoea. If it develops, it can cause severe organ dysfunction and failure. If the parasite goes to the brain, it can cause brain damage, and the patient could die instantly,’ Dr Maker continues. ‘But with a quick intervention, by testing and diagnosing it on right on time, and preventing it as well, it can lead to a good outcome.’

When time is running out, the isolated people of Tonj rely on Noah’s Mission Hospital to have the medicine they need. When their waiting rooms are overflowing with patients, Noah’s Place relies on MAF for the supplies to meet demand.

If you have a minute, please use it to make a donation that could save a life through the power of flight

MAF (Mission Aviation Fellowship) is the world’s largest humanitarian air service, flying medical supplies, doctors, and nurses to places no one else can reach and ensuring critical care gets to where it’s needed most. For just £18.95, you can directly provide and deliver a test and treat malaria kit and save a child in South Sudan today. Your gift could mean the difference between life and death.

Meet Buoi Gor, a mother with two malaria-stricken children.

Buoi travelled to Noah’s Place Mission Hospital, desperate for malaria treatment for her two sick kids.

‘If this hospital was not here then we would have no places to go for treatments, but since it is existing, I am so happy.’

Buoi Gor.

At the hospital, the doctors took care of Buoi’s young children and gave them the medicine to treat their malaria. Now, they are recovering.

Buoi expressed her relief and thanks:I am so happy for this hospital, the people who brought medicines, and the plane that brought the medicines here. Much appreciation to them’.
