MAF UK is excited to offer a sponsored engineering training scheme to assist people with a passion for mission aviation to join MAF and serve overseas.
If you’re successful, we will help you achieve the theoretical knowledge and practical experience necessary to obtain a CAA B1 or B2 engineering license.
You will then go on to serve in an MAF programme overseas.
There are five steps through the training programme, each of which must be completed to an acceptable standard within the allotted time frame as determined by our training staff.
MAF UK will provide financial assistance by employing candidates on fixed- term contracts for the period of service. This assists with living expenses and accommodation costs. MAF UK will also cover the cost of tuition for the degree. Whilst on the scheme, MAF UK will pay off the full student loan for tuition fees over the 5 years of initial service with MAF, including any interest. During practical assignments, MAF UK will continue to employ trainees.
To gain the required practical experience for your licence, you will be placed in one of our partner maintenance organisations, with the opportunity to work on a wide range of commercial aircraft.
In view of MAF UK’s investment, successful candidates will be required to sign a training agreement binding them to service with MAF following the completion of their studies and practical experience. This agreement will normally last for five years. Self-withdrawal from overseas service will require pro rata repayment of training-related costs.
The degree route involves enrolment at the University of South Wales or UHI Perth to complete a BSc (Hons) Aircraft Engineering and Maintenance Systems, followed by two years of gaining practical experience with a partner organisation in the UK.

The selection process is open and will remain open until shortly after the closing date. This process will include interviews, technical assessments, and required medical and psychological evaluations.
