Isolation Trial

Push your limits Secret location Isolation Unplugged Fundraise £1,000

We are partnering with Lost Sheep Guiding to run our first ever Isolation Trial in 2026 – an opportunity for you to step into the hardships of isolation – in solidarity with those MAF serves – plus raise vital funds and awareness for MAF UK.

It will push your limits and test your resourcefulness as you navigate your way from ‘isolation’ to a mystery location and experience some of the barriers that the people MAF serves must overcome on a daily basis.

For the adventurous, it’s going to have everything…

Secret location
Geographical isolation
Rugged terrain
Wild camping
Minimal kit
Basic food
Team quests
Strategy games
Beautiful scenery
And whatever weather the wilds of Scotland throws at us

The Challenge? 

Two nights ofwild camping withteam building challengesto overcome along the way. Use orlearn navigational and survival skills. Fully unplugged. 

Where?

Participants will meet in Glasgow, journey together as a team to an unknown isolated destination and begin the trial from there on foot. The trip will end back in Glasgow.

When?

Friday September 4 – 6 September 2026. 

Age? 

Successful applicants must be aged 18 or over on the first day of the event. 

Cost?

FREE. However, a minimum of £1,000 fundraising target applies, and participants will need to pay for travel to Glasgow – plus essential kit. 

Team Size?

Only 12 spaces available – please register your interest before they go! 

Successful applicants must be willing to share their journey of preparation and fundraising regularly with MAF supporters via social media.  

We will support you in this process and encourage you all the way.  

Applicants will be offered an informal online interview and must complete an Isolation Trial participant agreement and medical declaration form. If you are aged 17, but will be 18 by 4 September 2026, a parent/guardian will also be required to complete a Parent/Guardian consent and medical declaration form for the Isolation Trial.
